Elected County Commissioner Pct. 3 in 1996, re-elected in 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, 2016, & 2020 (Voted “Best Elected Official in the County” all four times the competition was held.)
Held Financial and Management Positions with Occidental Petroleum, Texas Instruments, and Continental Oil, and was a real estate developer and a cost-control consultant for large and small businesses. Have held Certified Public Accountant, Series 7 Securities Dealers, and Real Estate Broker
licenses.
It has been my distinct honor to serve the residents of Fort Bend County as a County Commissioner since January 1, 1997. I have protected taxpayers by ensuring that their money is spent as prudently and as efficiently as possible. I led the effort to reduce the county tax rate from the region’s highest of 66¢ to one of the region’s lowest of 44¢, saving county taxpayers over $1 billion. I played the key role in making Fort Bend the safest and most family-friendly county in the state by initiating the county’s Sexually Oriented Business Ordinance, which has kept unsavory operations out of the county and helped combat human trafficking.

Created Fort Bend Charities and raised $2,000,000 for families in need, local charities, and
community service organizations.
Together with his late wife, Janet, and fellow church members, helped set up Second Mile Mission, which serves struggling families in the county.
Together with a fellow Church Deacon, initiated what became Living Water International, which has saved thousands throughout the world by providing safe, clean drinking water.
