  • It has been my distinct honor to serve the residents of Fort Bend County as a County Commissioner since January 1, 1997. I have protected taxpayers by ensuring that their money is spent as prudently and as efficiently as possible. I led the effort to reduce the county tax rate from the region’s highest of 66¢ to one of the region’s lowest of 44¢, saving county taxpayers over $1 billion. I played the key role in making Fort Bend the safest and most family-friendly county in the state by initiating the county’s Sexually Oriented Business Ordinance, which has kept unsavory operations out of the county and helped combat human trafficking.

Community Service

  • Created Fort Bend Charities and raised $2,000,000 for families in need, local charities, and
    community service organizations.

  • Together with his late wife, Janet, and fellow church members, helped set up Second Mile Mission, which serves struggling families in the county.

  • Together with a fellow Church Deacon, initiated what became Living Water International, which has saved thousands throughout the world by providing safe, clean drinking water.
